Philadelphia, Pa. – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s rowing team traveled to Philadelphia for the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta Saturday, racing in three events.
How It Happened
- The championship eights placed 21st, finishing in 15:59.187, as St. Mary’s took on a mix of Division I and Division III competition. “They were pleased with their row and were able to hold of a surging Georgetown [University] from Three Angels [statues] all the way to the finish line,” stated first-year head coach Daniel Hagelberg.
- The championship fours found the finish line in the 38th spot with a time of 23:03.497.

“My clear statement on how I feel we are performing is that I believe we are getting faster, faster than others. We have continued to see development of the team through each regatta day. I expect our season finale at the Head of the Occoquan to be excellent.”
