Four Seahawks Named to 2010 All-CAC Men’s Lacrosse Team

York, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team had four players named to the 2010 All-Capital Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Team as announced by conference commissioner, Tom Byrnes, Wednesday afternoon.

Senior team captain Ryder Henry (Washington, D.C./St. John's College) was the Seahawks' lone representative on the first team while senior team captain Ryan Alexander (Laurel, Md./Pallotti) and juniors Dennis Rosson (Severna Park, Md./Severn) and Sean Hatley (Harwood, Md./Spalding) were named to the second team.

Ryder Henry This is Henry's second consecutive year making the All-CAC First Team as the 6-3 defenseman paced the Seahawks for the second season in a row in caused turnovers with 25 in 2010.  Starting all 15 games, he also ranked fourth on the team in ground balls with 35 while anchoring a defensive unit which allowed 9.53 goals per game.

Ryan Alexander A four-time all-star and the 2007 CAC Rookie of the Year, Alexander is making his first career appearance on the second team.  He is the team's second-leading scorer with 19 goals and third-best 12 assists despite having broken his hand on April 7.  Alexander has notched at least one goal in four out of the five games since breaking his hand.  The 6-0 midfielder scored one man-up and one man-down goal while adding 21 ground balls and four caused turnovers.

Dennis Rosson The 2008 CAC Rookie of the Year, Rosson is appearing on his third straight all-conference second team as the 6-2 attackman is experiencing his best campaign yet with team-highs of 39 goals and 56 points.  He dished out a second-best 17 assists as well while starting all 15 games.  Rosson added 22 ground balls and five caused turnovers while scoring five man-up goals.  A CAC player of the week honoree, he tallied career-highs of seven goals and nine points in a win over The College of Wooster.

Sean Hatley Hatley is garnering his first-ever postseason accolade after a solid junior campaign on defense for the Seahawks.  The 6-0 defenseman contributed 14 ground balls and nine caused turnovers while scoring his first collegiate goal in a win over Wesley College. Hatley helped to solidify a defensive unit which allowed 9.53 goals per game.

St. Mary's (9-6) will wrap up its 2010 campaign this Saturday as the Seahawks welcome Christopher Newport University to Seahawk Stadium on Senior Day at 1:00 pm.  Following the conclusion of Saturday's contest, the men's lacrosse program will recognize its four seniors: Ryan Alexander, Ben Craft, Ryder Henry and Chad McCarthy.
