Chris Flegler begins his second year as a member of the Seahawk coaching staff in 2011-12.  Flegler came to St. Mary's after a one-year stint as the boys' assistant coach at Cardozo Senior HS in Washington, D.C.

The Washington, D.C. native has been successful in helping the local talent garner athletic scholarships through the Chris Flegler Annual DMV Exposure Showcase for unsigned high school seniors and junior college transfers.

Through his first showcase in July 2010, seven players received scholarships to NCAA Division II Emporia State University (Kansas), Goldey-Beacom College (Delaware) and Mercyhurst College (Pennsylvania) as well as NJCAA Division I Seward County Community College (Kansas) and ASA in New York.

Before suffering a season-ending injury, Flegler played for College of Southern Maryland (2005-06) and Howard Community College (2006-07).

He is currently pursuing a bachelors in psychology at University of Maryland University College.
