St. Mary's City, Md. – The No. 15 St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team made it two wins in a row Tuesday night as the Seahawks posted a 71-61 non-conference victory over Kean University. Four St. Mary's players scored in double figures as the Seahawks head into the Thanksgiving break on a two-game win streak.

Kean (1-3) scored first in the game but the first half was all St. Mary's as the Seahawks responded with a 16-3 run to lead by a double-digit margin with 12:39 still remaining in the half. The home team headed into the locker room with a 39-25 advantage as the Cougars could get no closer than 11 points the rest of the first stanza.
MacAuley and Kean's sophomore guard Kenny Pace (Monroe Township, N.J./Monroe Township) led all players at intermission with 10 points each while as a team, St. Mary's shot 50.0% from the floor.
The Cougars shot nearly 50.0% in the second half and went 9-of-11 from the line to slowly inch their way back into the game. Kean opened up the second stanza, outscoring the Seahawks 18-12 over an 11-minute span to close the gap to 51-43 with 9:05 left following a three-point play by sophomore forward Kyle Latorre (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J./Hasbrouck Heights).
St. Mary's used a 16-of-23 effort from the free throw line to recover its double-digit margin as the Seahawks boasted a 15-point advantage with 3:29 to go. Kean went on a 10-2 run to shave the lead to 66-59 at 1:16 on a Latorre layup but the Seahawks closed out the game by knocking down 5-of-6 from the charity stripe to seal the win.
The Seahawks dominated the boards and posted a 46-22 advantage over Kean as all but two of the 13 players that stepped on the court for St. Mary's tonight hauled in at least one rebound. Hutchinson and senior forward Brian Grashof (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) each grabbed a game-best eight caroms to lead the charge on the glass.
The Seahawks will be back in action on Saturday, November 26 as St. Mary's travels to Lancaster, Pa. to take on No. 17 Franklin & Marshall College in non-conference action at 4:00 pm.
