Griffin Picked as CAC Player-of-the-Week

York, Pa. - Junior Camontae Griffin (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar) of the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team reaped his second Capital Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week citation this season as Griffin earned the honor for the week ending February 1.

The 5-9 guard picked up his second weekly CAC honor Monday afternoon as Griffin garnered the honor back on December 1 after being named the MVP of the Provident Pride of Maryland Division III Men's Basketball Scholarship Tournament.

He averaged 26.5 points, 5.5 assists, and 2.0 steals in a 2-0 week, solidifying the Seahawks' hold on second place in the CAC standings.

Griffin was 10-for-10 from the field on the way to 23 points and dished out a season-best seven assists in a 114-80 mid-week victory over Stevenson.

He finished the week with 30 points, one shy of his season-high, by hitting 11-of-19 from the field, including half of his six long-range attempts, as St. Mary's posted a 77-71 overtime victory at Marymount (Va.).  With the win, the Seahawks improved to 2-1 in overtime games this season.

St. Mary's will be back in action this Wednesday, February 4 as the Seahawks host Hood College in conference action at 8:00.
