Parker Earns All-Region Honors

Freshman Lauriann Parker continued to reap postseason accolades on Monday as Parker was named to the 2009 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-South Region Second Team as announced by Jennifer Goodrich, NFHCA executive director.

Parker Tabbed CAC Rookie of the Year; Skiest, Puzak Named All-CAC

St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s Lauriann Parker was voted as the 2009 Capital Athletic Conference Field Hockey Rookie of the Year as conference commissioner, Tom Byrnes, released this year’s All-CAC selections Thursday afternoon. Parker became the first-ever Seahawk to earn rookie of the year since the award’s inception in 1997.

Parker Selected as October Athlete of the Month

Lauriann Parker of the St. Mary’s College of Maryland field hockey team was voted by the Department of Athletics and Recreation as the October Athlete of the Month after setting two school single-season records and leading St. Mary’s to a 4-4 record.

Wesley Advances to Semifinals with OT Win

Sophomore forward Sheree Pleasanton found the back of the cage just three minutes into the first overtime period to help Wesley College advance to the semifinals as the Wolverines notched a 3-2 overtime victory over St. Mary’s College of Maryland in the first round of the 2009 Capital Athletic Conference Field Hockey Tournament.

Eastern Mennonite Outlasts St. Mary’s in Double OT; Parker, Puzak Set Records

Senior Alyssa Derstine’s second goal of the afternoon proved to key as Derstine lifted Eastern Mennonite University to a 4-3 double overtime win over the St. Mary’s College of Maryland field hockey team in the Seahawks’ regular-season finale on Tuesday.
