Skiest Goal Propels to win over Goucher
St. Mary's City, Md. - The St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team needed just one to be victorious Tuesday afternoon as junior midfielder Allie Skiest (Arnold, Md./Seton Keough) put in the lone goal in St. Mary's 1-0 shutout of Goucher College.
Following a penalty corner, freshman forward Ali McIntosh (Stevensville, Md./Kent Island) fired a shot towards the right post where Skiest reversed it into the back left corner at 20:17.
Junior goalie Emma Lauhoff (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) made one save in registering her second shutout of the season.
Sophomore Micki Manheimer (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) recorded 10 stops in the loss as the Seahawks broke Manheimer's 230:17-minute scoreless streak.
St. Mary's will return to action this Saturday, September 12 when the Seahawks host Wesley College in Capital Athletic Conference action at 11:00 a.m.
