Lauhoff Named to Honor Roll
St. Mary's City, Md. - The staff at www.womensfieldhockey.com has selected Emma Lauhoff (Wayne, Pa./Radnor) of the St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team to their weekly honor for the week ending October 4.
The 5-2 junior goalkeeper led the Seahawks (6-4, 1-3 CAC) to two overtime non-conference victories last week.
St. Mary's posted a win over Catholic University by a score 3-2 in
penalty strokes as Lauhoff matched her career-high
with 15 stops. After not making a stop during the first round
of strokes, Lauhoff shined in the second round,
denying three of Catholic's four stroke attempts. The
Seahawks went on to capitalize on their first three strokes to
clinch the victory, winning the shootout by an 8-6 margin.
Lauhoff followed up her Catholic performance with six saves in a 2-1 overtime win over The College of Wooster.
Among Capital Athletic Conference goalies, Lauhoff ranks tied for first in shutouts with two, fifth in goals against average with 2.11, sixth in saves with 22, and seventh in save percentage with .726.
The Seahawks will return to action in two weeks when St. Mary's hosts Washington & Lee University in non-conference action on Thursday, October 15 at 4:00 pm on Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day.
