Femi Selected as CAC Player-of-the-Week

St. Mary's City, Md. - Ali Femi (Easton, Md./Easton) became the third St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey player to be named the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Field Hockey Player-of-the-Week as Femi earned the honor for the week ending October 22. 

Senior Ali Femi Femi shared the honor with Salisbury University's Beverly Beladino.

The other two Seahawks to have picked up the honor this season is junior forward Emily Norris (Timonium, Md./Dulaney) on September 17 and senior forward Marianne Wood (Wakefield, Mass./Wakefield Memorial) on October 1.

In a pair of games this past week, the forward notched four goals in leading the Seahawks to victories over conference opponent, Hood College, and Randolph-Macon College.

Femi started off the week by recording her second career hat trick in St. Mary's 7-0 blanking of Hood and then added a goal in the Seahawks' 3-0 shutout of Randolph-Macon.

With her four-goal performance, the senior moved into second all-time at St. Mary's in both points with 77 and goals with 31.  Femi is currently the school's all-time leader in assists with 15.

She is tied for the team lead in scoring with 11 goals and 25 points.

Femi currently ranks tied for second in the CAC in goals, third in goals per game (0.79), tied for third in both points and points per game (1.79), tied for eighth in assists with three, and tied for ninth in assists per game (0.21).
