Broccolino Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

Mike Broccolino, who graduated magna cum laude on May 10 from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® College Division Baseball Third Team as announced Tuesday afternoon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Broccolino Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Squad

St. Mary’s College of Maryland senior Mike Broccolino was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II College Division Baseball First Team as announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). With his first team selection, Broccolino now advances to the national ballot and has the potential to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors.

Baden Named to All-CAC Team

Tom Byrnes, the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) commissioner, released the 2008 CAC Baseball All-Conference Teams Monday morning and freshman shortstop Matt Baden was St. Mary’s College of Maryland lone representative. Baden earned a spot on the All-CAC Second Team in his first year as a Seahawk.

Killebrew Tabbed Co-CAC Player-of-the-Week

Jacen Killebrew became the first St. Mary’s College of Maryland baseball player to be picked as a conference player-of-the-week as Killebrew was selected as the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Baseball Co-Player-of-the-Week for the week ending April 27.

Seahawks Outscore Lancaster Bible, 18-0

The St. Mary’s College of Maryland baseball team picked up a non-conference doubleheader sweep of Lancaster Bible College Wednesday afternoon as the Seahawks improved to 18-19-1 on the year. St. Mary’s posted an 8-0 victory in the first game and then notched a 10-0 win in the nightcap.
