  • Mount Saint Vincent staked a 4-2 lead in the sixth with three runs on two hits and an error. The Dolphins loaded the bases and Saunders walked in for the first run after reaching base on an error to lead off the inning. Matt Albert scored on a RBI single by DiNorcia before Luis Castillo came home on a wild pitch.
  • The Seahawks responded with four in their half of the sixth as redshirt sophomore infielder Jay Hammett (Coltons Point, Md./Chopticon) scored on an error and then senior catcher Sean Goodie (Rising Sun, Md./Rising Sun) came home on a sac fly by Ansaldi. First-year infielder Andy Collins (Arlington, Va./Washington-Lee) drove in both Merritt and senior Joe Bavaro (Brick, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) with his first career double.
  • Ansaldi, who had moved from third base to pitcher to get the final two outs in the sixth, earned his first career win as he faced just four batters in the seventh. He struck out the leadoff batter, walked the next batter but then got the forced out at second before having the final batter ground out to end the inning.
