Nadolny Lone St. Mary's Baseball CAC All-Star
York, Pa. – First-year Zach Nadolny (Sparks, Md./Bel Air) was the lone representative for St. Mary's College of Maryland on the 2012 All-Capital Athletic Conference Baseball Team as announced by Tom Byrnes, the conference commissioner, Thursday afternoon, garnering second team honors. Nadolny was only one of two freshmen on this year's all-star team.
In his first year as a Seahawk, the 6-5 designated hitter paced St. Mary's in several offensive categories. Nadolny finished as the team's leader in batting average (.360), RBI (31), hits (28), doubles (14), and sacrifice flies (6). He was second with 62 total bases while ranking third in slugging percentage (.496) and fourth in on-base percentage (.399). Nadolny was also fifth with 21 runs scored. Among conference players, he ranked tied for sixth in doubles.
Nadolny made four appearances on the mound as well, starting one game and recording one save in 5.2 innings of action.
St. Mary's finished the 2012 season with a 17-19 (6-12 CAC) record while 18-year head coach Lew Jenkins notched his 300th career win on March 13 against Albertus Magnus College.
