Mike Broccolino, who graduated magna cum laude on May 10 from St. Marys College of Maryland, was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® College Division Baseball Third Team as announced Tuesday afternoon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

St. Marys College of Maryland senior Mike Broccolino was named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II College Division Baseball First Team as announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). With his first team selection, Broccolino now advances to the national ballot and has the potential to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors.

Baden Named to All-CAC Team
Tom Byrnes, the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) commissioner, released the 2008 CAC Baseball All-Conference Teams Monday morning and freshman shortstop Matt Baden was St. Marys College of Maryland lone representative. Baden earned a spot on the All-CAC Second Team in his first year as a Seahawk.

St. Marys College of Maryland and No. 5 Salisbury University finally wrapped up their three-game series Tuesday afternoon, picking up where they had left off on Sunday before being rained out in the top of the third of the first game of the doubleheader. The Seahawks (13-17, 6-9 CAC) were no match for Salisbury as the Sea Gulls (29-1, 15-0 CAC) went on to sweep the Capital Athletic Conference twinbill, 11-4 and 12-0, extending their nation-leading win streak to 29 straight.
