Jennifer Robertson, who joined the Seahawk Sports Medicine staff in October 2012, was appointed the interim head athletic trainer for the start of the 2013-14 academic year and the interim tag was then removed at the start of her third year.
Robertson has also overseen the Physical Education and Recreational Sport program since 2013-14 and is a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee at St. Mary's.
Her philosophy of being knowledgeable, personable and approachable has been a perfect fit for St. Mary's athletics. Her primary focus at St. Mary's will be the men's soccer, volleyball, men's basketball, and men's lacrosse programs while supervising an assistant athletic trainer and athletic training intern.
The Apalachin, N.Y. native has worked across all three NCAA divisions. Prior to St. Mary's, she served as an assistant trainer for men's and women's soccer, cross country, track, volleyball, swimming, crew, tennis, golf, and cheerleading at Division I Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore (2011-12).
Robertson has also made athletic training stops at Division II Le Moyne College (Syracuse, N.Y.) and Division I Binghamton University in New York. She spent almost five years as a member of the U.S. Women's National Team Handball (2005-09), traveling to Canada, Mexico, and Europe for competitions.
She holds a National Athletic Trainers' Association certification as well as a State of Maryland Athletic Training license.
Robertson completed an associate degree in liberal arts at Broome Community College in December 2004 before earning her B.S. in athletic training at State University of New York at Cortland in December 2007. She holds a masters degree in education as well from Le Moyne (2011).
