Changes Announced for Seahawk Spring Sports
St. Mary’s City, Md. – Three St. Mary’s College of Maryland spring varsity sports announced changes to their schedules on Monday.
Baseball
St. Mary’s head coach Lew Jenkins
announced that the Seahawk non-conference doubleheader at Gallaudet
University in Washington, D.C. scheduled for Wednesday, March 30,
will now be played a day earlier at Hoy Field. St.
Mary’s and the Bison will play two seven-inning games on
Tuesday, March 29, with the first game slated to start at 2:00
pm.
Men’s Lacrosse
Seahawk head coach Chris Hasbrouck said
that their Capital Athletic Conference game at Marymount (Va.)
University that was called due to lightning on Wednesday, March 23
has been rescheduled for Monday, April 4. Along with the new
date, the game’s location has also changed as the game will
now be played at home in Seahawk Stadium. The contest will
resume from the point it was called so the Seahawks will start with
a 3-0 lead with 4-5 minutes remaining in the first
quarter.
Women’s Tennis
SMCM head coach Derek Sabedra announced
that their league match with Stevenson University that was snowed
out on Sunday, March 27 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 29
at 4:00 pm at the Somerset Tennis Complex. Tomorrow’s
match will also double as the team’s Breast Cancer Awareness
Match so it would greatly appreciated if everyone in attendance
would wear PINK to show their
support.
