147 Scholar-Athletes Named to 2009-10 CAC All-Academic Team
St. Mary’s College of Maryland led the CAC for the third year in a row with 53.6 percent of its student-athletes (147 of 274) in 15 CAC championship sports sponsored by the College earning a berth on the 2009-10 all-academic team.

St. Mary's Hall of Fame Class of 2010 Announced
Four former student-athletes will be inducted into the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Hall of Fame on Friday, October 1, as part of the annual Hawktober Festival — St. Mary’s Homecoming weekend. The induction ceremony will be held on Friday evening at Daugherty-Palmer Commons.

At an informal gathering on May 4 in the Michael P. O’Brien Athletics & Recreation Center Arena, the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated the end of a successful athletic year by giving out its annual end-of-the-year awards.

Second-Largest Class Ever Inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma
Last night, the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Department of Athletics and Recreation inducted its second-largest class into the Maryland Beta Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society, as 25 new members constituted St. Mary’s seventh induction class.

The Third Annual Hawktober Festival at St. Mary’s College of Maryland is upon us as the festivities will occur this Saturday, October 3 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. St. Mary's Welcomes New Athletic Trainer
St. Mary’s College of Maryland head athletic trainer and compliance coordinator, Jim Cranmer, is pleased to announce the hiring of Jessica Pope as the latest addition to the Department of Sports Medicine. Pope will serve as an assistant athletic trainer, increasing the staff to three certified trainers. She brings a background in human nutrition and foods to the Seahawk training room.
